ON truly historical ground ! Kittyhawk, north Carolina where the first powered flight was done ! The flight from Conway takes about 3 hours one way, and is about 450 km long.

Can you think of a better way to come to First flight ( FFA )In your own aircraft.......! In the middle, you see the kill devil hill, where the monument stands. Here they launched their gliders. The plain in front of the hill, is where the powered flights was made. The museum and rebuilt hangars are on the far right of the field. The day I landed here, the winds were 20 kt gusting to 30 ( 10-15 m/s )

The outer banks are one of the most windy places on the east coast. Looking south.

Really a great feeling to have been here. All pilots should come down here and see the birthplace of aviation!

This is a good place to launch a glider !!
