175 KM FAI Triangle flown on 18. september 2010

This flight started early morning, and this particular day was one of those beautiful "indian summer" autumn days.
The air was fresh and cool, with the scent of autumn everywhere.
Launch was a bit challenging with the heavy fuel load in dead calm conditions on a flat launch, but soon I was on my way.
Slowly climbing to cruise altitude, I drifted into that special modus of calm lonelyness, becoming totally immersed to the flight.

It has been said that while flying, ones primary responsibility is to abide the law of nature, not the law of man.....
I love that, maybe it is one of those special things that I live for....

Enjoy the pictures !

2. turnpoint , Asnesset in the fjord bottom

Slettfjell ridge, a very nice day hike, highly reccomended

Heading home, a light tailwind pushes me, my groundspeed is almost 60 kmh...

This ridge is in my opinion one of the best day hikes in the entire lofoten - vesteralen aera.
Start point N68 48 19 E15 11 20, Slettfjell summit N68 50 08 E15 18 19

Cruisin towards forfjord

The Godfjord alps is always nice to watch

Simply awesome, Skardtind ridge looking east towards Kvafjord

Engine monitoring:
EGT is 963 F witch is quite cool (max is 1070)
CHT is 132 (barely above idle temp, max is 170 for cruise)
RPM is 5150, typhical for full reflex cruise on the fusion 29
Engine time is 3:25, and there is 9 liter left in the tanks.
Groundspeed is quite good.... (:
The wire from the GPS connects to the fuel computer and also supplies generator power to the GPS.<
Heated clothing is on, VERY nice feature!!!

This picture shows "cool burn" modus, and I use this setting when I am well within fuel / range.
The engine runs cool and with minimal power output.
If max range or power is required I can switch to "performance modus"
This will increase power by some 10% and decreases fuel burn by some 15%

3.turnpoint, Magoyholmen

Back home!
